Cookie Policy

What this page covers
This page lists every cookie and every piece of browser storage that KARDON COMMERCE ENTERPRISE, trading as Cats Play Toy, uses on this website — what each one is for, which category it belongs to, and how long it lasts. “Cookies” here also covers local storage and session storage, which work differently inside your browser but do a similar job.
Essential cookies are always on, because the store cannot work without them. Every other cookie loads only after you say yes, and you can change your mind at any time. We also keep our own visitor count, which uses no cookies and nothing from your device at all — it is described near the end of this page so that nothing we do goes unmentioned here.
Changing your choice
Open to turn analytics or marketing on or off. Withdrawing consent stops the relevant scripts loading from that point on. Cookies a third party has already set stay in your browser until they expire or you delete them — you can clear those, and block cookies entirely, in your browser's privacy settings. Blocking the essential ones will stop the cart and checkout working.
Essential
Needed for the store to work at all: keeping your cart and favourites, remembering your checkout details if you ask us to, keeping you signed in, and recording this cookie choice. These can't be turned off, and none of them track you across other sites.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cpt_consent | Cookie | Remembers your cookie choices, so you aren't asked again and so analytics and marketing scripts stay off unless you allowed them. | 1 year |
| cpt_cart | Local storage | Your shopping cart. Stores only which variant and how many — never prices, which are always re-read from our catalogue. | Until you clear your cart or your browser data |
| cpt_selected_voucher | Local storage | The voucher code you picked, so it arrives already applied at checkout. | Until you clear your cart or your browser data |
| cpt_favourites | Local storage | Your favourites list while you're not signed in. Signing in syncs it to your account instead. | Until you clear your browser data |
| cpt_checkout_details | Local storage | Your name, contact details and delivery address — saved only if you tick “Save my details for next time” at checkout. Clearing them from the checkout page removes this entry. | Until you clear them, or clear your browser data |
| cpt_save_pending | Session storage | A short-lived flag that your details should be saved once the order actually goes through, so a failed payment saves nothing. | Until you close the browser tab |
| cpt_buynow | Session storage | The single item you chose with Buy now, kept apart from your cart so Buy now never disturbs what is already in it. | Until you close the browser tab |
| cpt_favourites_member_prompt_dismissed | Local storage | Remembers that you dismissed the prompt suggesting you save your favourites to an account, so it is not shown again. | Until you clear your browser data |
| cpt_purchase_tracked_<order number> | Session storage | Stops a completed order being counted twice if you refresh or return to the confirmation page. Written even if you decline analytics; it holds a yes/no flag, not your order. | Until you close the browser tab |
| cpt_no_track | Cookie | Only ever set on our own staff's browsers, when a shop administrator signs in to manage the store. It tells our visitor counter to ignore that browser, so our own work on the site is left out of the figures. It holds the single character “1” — no identifier of any kind — and is removed when they sign out. You will not have this cookie. | 1 year, or until sign-out |
| sb-<project>-auth-token | Cookie | Keeps you signed in to your account. Set by Supabase, the database and authentication service behind our member accounts. Only present if you have an account and are signed in. | Up to 400 days, or until you sign out |
Analytics
Help us understand how visitors find and use the store — which pages get read, where people give up — so we can fix what isn't working. Measurement only; never used to target ads at you.
Google Analytics 4 — Google
Measures how visitors find and use the store — pages viewed, products viewed, and whether a visit ends in an order.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Cookie | Distinguishes one visitor's browser from another's. | 2 years |
| _ga_<container id> | Cookie | Keeps the analytics session state for this site. | 2 years |
Our own visitor count — no cookies at all
There is one more way we measure the store, and it belongs on this page even though it has no cookie to list: Our own visitor statistics, collected on our own server. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and cannot identify you.
Nothing is written to your browser for it — no cookie, no local storage, no session storage — so there is nothing here for you to clear, and nothing that could be read by another website. The count happens entirely on our own server as the page loads.
To count a returning page view as one visitor rather than several, we turn your IP address and browser description into a short scrambled code using a secret that changes every day, and keep only that code. The code cannot be turned back into your IP address, and because the secret is thrown away after two days, the code from one day cannot be matched to the code from any other day. The effect is that we can see how many people visited today, and never who they were or whether they came back next week.
Because it sets no cookies and collects no personal data, these statistics are gathered on every visit, including when you decline analytics cookies. What declining switches off is the trackers that do store things on your device and do report to other companies: Google Analytics under analytics, and the Facebook and TikTok advertising pixels under marketing. Our own counts cannot identify you, so there is nothing in them to withdraw — but if you would still rather not be counted, write to us using the details on our contact page and we will explain your options.
Individual visit records are deleted after 90 days. What remains is daily totals — visitor counts, popular pages, countries, devices — which hold no visitor codes and describe nobody in particular. The full detail, including everything we do and do not record, is in the Visitor statistics section of our Privacy Policy.
Marketing
Let advertising platforms measure which of their ads led to a visit or a purchase, and show you our ads on their sites. These are tracking cookies set by companies other than us.
We don't currently run any marketing or advertising cookies.
Built in, but switched off
Our site is able to load the trackers below, and they are currently not enabled — they set nothing in your browser today. We list them so you know what could appear: if we ever switch one on it will be added to the tables above, and it will only load for visitors who have consented to its category.
- Meta Pixel (Meta) — Advertising tracker: measures which Facebook and Instagram ads led to a visit or an order, and allows our ads to be shown to you on Meta's platforms.
- TikTok Pixel (TikTok) — Advertising tracker: measures which TikTok ads led to a visit or an order, and allows our ads to be shown to you on TikTok.
